Dr. Eng. 𝐏𝐢𝐨𝐭𝐫 𝐖𝐢𝐞𝐜𝐳𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐤 𝐳 Ł𝐮𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐜𝐳 – 𝐏𝐈𝐌𝐎𝐓 was a guest on the program “𝐏𝐨ł𝐮𝐝𝐧𝐢𝐞 𝐳 𝐀𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐳𝐞𝐦” on Radio RDC, where he discussed how to support young people in developing their scientific passions and how the Łukasiewicz Research Network creates opportunities for future scientists and engineers.
One of the topics of conversation was the program “𝐎𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐣𝐜𝐳𝐲𝐜𝐲 𝐰 Ł𝐮𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐜𝐳𝐮”—an initiative aimed at finalists and winners of nationwide subject-based academic competitions who wish to pursue their interests in a research environment. The program gives young talents the opportunity to work on real-world projects, benefit from the expertise of specialists, and gain practical insight into the world of science.
Piotr Wieczorek, Ph.D., Eng., as a 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐮, shares his experience and supports young participants as they take their first steps on their academic path. Mentors in the program play an important role—they help Olympiad participants find their footing in the research community, develop their skills, and plan for their future growth.
The discussion also touched on the skills needed for the future in the age of artificial intelligence, the role of teachers in sparking intellectual curiosity, and how to keep young people’s enthusiasm for discovery and experimentation alive.
