The vehicle type approval procedure is a process involving:
- implementation of the study in accordance with the procedure used,
- Preparation of extensive documentation identifying the type of vehicle,
- Performing production compliance inspections at the vehicle production/assembly site.

FEES
Fees for granting or amending a type-approval certificate are regulated by the Law on Approval Systems for Vehicles and Their Equipment(Journal of Laws 2023, item 919).
According to Article 69 of the Law, the amount of the fee for:
- Issuance of an EU type-approval certificate for a vehicle – may not be higher than PLN 1,600;
- changes to the EU type-approval certificate for a vehicle – may not be higher than PLN 400;
- recognition of the certificate of national type-approval of a vehicle issued by an EU member state other than the Republic of Poland – may not be higher than PLN 350;
- issuance of a certificate of national type approval for a vehicle, streetcar or trolleybus – may not be higher than PLN 1,600;
- change of the certificate of national type approval of a vehicle, streetcar or trolleybus – may not be higher than PLN 400;
- Issuance of a certificate of national type approval for vehicles produced in small series – may not be higher than PLN 1,600;
- changes to the certificate of national type-approval of vehicles produced in small series – may not be higher than PLN 400.
The fee shall be paid by the manufacturer on the basis of a bill issued by the Transport Technical Supervision after considering the manufacturer’s application for granting or modifying approval.
