The Law on Approval Systems for Vehicles and their Equipment, UN Regulations and EU Regulations (2018/858, 167/2013, 168/2013) require manufacturers to obtain a type approval certificate under the approval procedure .
Services dedicated to the approval procedure are provided by the Testing Laboratories and the Lukasiewicz-PIMOT Inspection Unit.
Regulatory compliance testing and production conformity inspections are carried out under the authority granted by the approval authorities.

FEES
Fees for granting or amending a type-approval certificate for an item of equipment or a part are regulated by the Law on Approval Systems for Vehicles and Their Equipment(Journal of Laws 2023, item 919).
According to Article 69 of the Law, the amount of the fee for:
- 14) issuance of an EU type-approval certificate – shall not exceed PLN 400;
- 15) changes to the EU type-approval certificate – shall not exceed PLN 200;
- 16) issuance of a UN type-approval certificate – shall not exceed PLN 400;
- 17) changes to the UN type-approval certificate – shall not exceed PLN 200.
The fee is payable by the manufacturer on the basis of a bill issued by the Transport Technical Supervision after reviewing the manufacturer’s application for granting or modifying approval.
