Structural strength of vehicles and their components

Structural strength of vehicles and their components

Customer Service Department

We conduct strength testing of vehicle structures and equipment to assess safety, durability and compliance with normative requirements or individual customer requirements.

Strength tests of structures and equipment elements

The tests cover both complete vehicles and their structural components and equipment. The purpose is to assess the resistance of the structure to loads occurring during operation and to verify that the requirements specified in normative documents are met.

Scope of research

  • testing of the construction of the bodies of vehicles for the transportation of goods
  • side sheet research
  • testing of partitions to protect passengers from moving luggage
  • testing of cargo securing systems on road vehicles
  • testing of load-bearing structures of vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers
  • bench testing of truck and special vehicle structures

Research is carried out in accordance with standards, among others:

  • EN 12642
  • EN 12640
  • EN 12641.

Determination of design features of vehicles

We also conduct research to determine the basic design parameters of vehicles, used in traffic dynamics modeling, among other things.

Scope of research

  • Determination of vehicle weight and its distribution among axles, sides and wheels
  • Measurement of linear and angular dimensions of the vehicle
  • determination of the position of the center of mass
  • determination of the turning diameter
  • Determination of static lateral stability of the vehicle

The tests also include verification of compliance of design parameters, equipment and installation of vehicle components with the applicable technical requirements.

Verification of vehicle equipment and systems

As part of vehicle construction testing, an assessment of the compliance of vehicle equipment with technical requirements is also conducted.

Scope of research:

  • control of the structural parameters of the vehicle
  • tire mounting verification
  • testing of tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS)
  • Research for modeling vehicle traffic dynamics.
