Conformity of Production (COP)
The inspection for conformity of production (COP) is the integral part of every type-approval procedure dedicated for type a vehicle, component (part) and separate technical unit.
Every vehicle, system, component or separate technical unit, part or item of equipment approved pursuant to a UN Regulations annexed to the Revised 1958 Agreement and/or Regulations EU (e.g. Annex IV of Regulation EU 2018/858) shall be so manufactured as to conform to the type approved.
The manufacturer is obliged to that approved production is also realized with compliance to the quality management system (ISO 9001; IATF 16949).
Łukasiewicz – PIMOT carries out this automotive inspection on the basis of granted powers/authorizations.
The results of the inspection in order to grant approval and as evidence of maintaining compliance with the approved type are used by:
- Polish Approval Authority – TDT (e20, E20),
- Latvian Approval Authority – CSDD (e32, E32),
- Latvian Approval Authority (for agriculture) – STC (e32).

Explanation:
A COP certificate issued by an approval authority other than the one dealing with the application for the approval certificate may be accepted by the approval authority:
- if the certificate shows the regulatory act that is applicable to the current case under consideration and,
- if there is an appropriate agreement between the approval authorities regarding to the mutual recognition of COP certificates issued by both approval authorities.
