Vehicle Tests Laboratory


The scope of Laboratory’s activities includes:

  • Testing of the braking and steering systems of automotive vehicles;
  • Testing of the replacement brake lining assemblies, replacement drum brake linings, replacement discs and replacement drums;
  • Testing of the static lateral stability;
  • Traction testing of automotive vehicles including dynamics tests;
  • Measurements of mass and its distributions on wheels and axles and determination of centre of gravity;
  • Measurement of linear and angular dimensions;
  • Testing of the military and police automotive vehicles for purpose of national defence and safety.

Basic research equipment of the Laboratory:

  • Computer inertial-navigation system to carry out tests and record measurement data allowing measurements of accelerations, pressure and force;
  • Automatic device for movement of the steering wheel;
  • Test stand for determining static lateral stability;
  • Weight stands for automotive vehicles of all categories;
  • Testing grounds in various parts of the country.

Permissions and certificates:

Laboratory owns a range of test methods accredited by:

  • Accreditation Certificate No. AB 082 (PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005) issued by the Polish Centre for Accreditation;
  • Accreditation Certificate in the field of Defence and Security No. 23/MON/2015issued by the ministry of National Defence.

The Laboratory has been authorised by the Ministry of Transport to carry out tests in scope of:

  • UN ECE  Regulation No 13 – Uniform provisions concerning the approval of vehicles of categories M, N and O with regard to braking;
  • UN ECE  Regulation No 13-H – Uniform provisions concerning the approval of passenger cars with regard to braking;
  • UN ECE  Regulation No 79 – Uniform provisions concerning the approval of vehicles with regard to steering equipment;
  • UN ECE  Regulation No 90 – Uniform provisions concerning the approval of replacement brake lining assemblies and drum brake linings for power-driven vehicles and their trailers;
  • UN ECE  Regulation No 107 – Uniform provisions concerning the approval of category M2 or M3 vehicles with regard to their general construction,
  • UN ECE  Regulation No 111 – Uniform provisions concerning the approval of tank vehicles of categories N and O with regard to rollover stability;
  • UN ECE  Regulation No 130 – Uniform provisions concerning the approval of motor vehicles with regard to the Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS);
  • UN ECE  Regulation No 131 – Uniform provisions concerning the approval of motor vehicles with regard to the Advanced Emergency Braking Systems (AEBS)
  • Commission Regulation (EU) No 1230/2012 with regard to type-approval requirements for masses and dimensions of motor vehicles;
  • Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 2015/68 with regard to vehicle braking requirements for the approval of agricultural and forestry vehicles;
  • Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 2015/208 with regard to vehicle functional safety requirements for the approval of agricultural and forestry vehicles;
  • Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 3/2014 with regard to vehicle functional safety requirements for the approval of two- or three-wheel vehicles and quadricycles;
